Chinese New Year this year hasn't been particularly momentous nor has it been slipping away unnoticed.
This year, things are different. I am no longer hiding in my shell. I have stopped worrying about whether others like me or what people think of me. Instead, I started letting myself go. Just being who I am. Who I'm comfortable being.
I am who I am. Like it or not, I'm me. Period.
Righty, back to CNY stuff!!
This is my meager assemblage of things which scream CNY :
I want ang pow with money in it!
I want to eat kuih kapit and pineapple tarts!
I want to sing CNY songs out loud!
I want to win money from BlackJack!
I want!!!
I attended a CNY dinner last Saturday despite having an exam the following Monday. screw that paper. I'm gonna fail it anyway so might as well enjoy myself and have a good meal.
I have learnt to accept things which are meant to be. It doesn't mean that I'm giving up. I'm just taking a step back, reassessing what I have done wrong, and move forward a better man.
Anyway, we had the dinner at Jade Palace, a local Chinese restaurant, with mediocre food but a very Chinesey atmosphere.
The kitchen was divided from the main restaurant by a wall which did not go up to the ceiling. This explains why the picture looks like it was taken with a super low tech camera. Mind you, it was taken with a Panasonic Lumix dunno-what-model. Still Lumix la ok! So the quality can never slide that low!

All 31 of us from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, & Canada.~ Spot me! Spot me! ~
On the 1st night of CNY, a few of us gathered at a friend's place for a small celebration. 9 of us to be exact.
Our initial plan was to have it in the common room. As my red bean soup was not cooked when everyone arrived, we had to gather at Kat's apartment first. Everyone brought food so we started eating and no one showed the slightest intention of adjourning to the common room. So we ate and ate, almost finished all the food within an hour being there.
We finally dragged our heavy butts down to the common room and played Truth or Dare for 3 whole hours wtd!
