I love you this much

my first ever award is from Jolin, my junior from KMB and now at UCC. hehe. Jolin, u're fated to be my junior for life and for me to bully u!! ^^

I've been wanting to write a post on LOVE. so, now's the chance. thanks Jolin!

When i was younger, i didn't know what love was. my idea of love was a guy and a girl living happily ever after. who can blame me for thinking that way. i grew up in a typically conservative household where love was not freely expressed. no sign of affection or appreciation was ever shown when something kind or sweet was done. that's how it is in my house. but that does not mean that we do not love each other. well, at least i know my parents love us very much. and i do them. as for my sisters, i refuse to comment. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt. hihi.

Coming to Cork, being so far away from home, made me realise that i've been taking many things for granted. I've been taking my parents for granted. I've always felt that whatever they do or did for me was their responsibilities and there is no need for me to show any appreciation. after coming here, my perception widened. i gathered that they do not owe me anything. and whatever they do is out of love and care. I love my MOMMY and DADDY this much.

we used to shower together. dress like one another. play with Barbie Dolls after class. go over to our neighbour's to watch tv. cycle to 7-11 to buy Slurpee and curry puffs. built little houses in our house. share the same room. get each other into trouble. blame one another when things get bad. get stroked by the cane when we're naughty. at least that's what we did when we were younger. LING, i know we've grown apart but deep down inside, i love you this much.

i am always the one at fault when we get into fights. you got to play with all my toys. you even got my favorite baby pillow when u came. sometimes i feel like we're strangers in our own home. WEY, although we have never really shared any secrets nor feelings, i love you this much.

we've known each other since Form 3 when u transferred to Convent. we got closer and things changed. the list of things that we have done together never ends. this includes the food we've eaten and the $$$$$ spent on the food. hehe. greedy people we are. we've had tough times but we always forgive and forget. the time i spent with you has been really great. things will never be the same without you. ELIN, i love you this much.

after 2 years of being friends, we got closer by the end of the course. that's something which i will never regret. the feelings i have for you have always been there. we finally got together after months of agony and contemplation. since then, it has been a whirlwind. everything has been absolutely amazing. QIHENG, i love you this much.

i've known some of you since Standard 1. and some i met in Form 1. that's more than half my life now. we've done so many funny and ridiculous things together. had our childish (in a good way) and innocent games. played catching in the tennis court. worked together to make our sketch a success. went on school trips. stayed in the aquarium hotel in langkawi. gossiped about our teachers. gave them nicknames. gossiped about other people in school. went visiting during Chinese New Years and Raya n Deepavali. had our own embarassing moments which only we know.
