hehe no it's not a new word. couldn't think of a title for this post so it's picture + food = pictood. ok ok. so i'm not creative. i only have my parents to blame. they were not very creative nor artistic themselves. which reminds me, they took down my only art piece i have hanging in the main hall at home and replaced it with a thousand dollar silk woven piece of work.shish. can you imagine how hurt i felt when i saw it? :( ok back to the point, sorry i always get distracted midway, i was saying that my lack of creativity is not something i am proud of. period.

anyway, my post today will be about random stuff which i don't normally blog about. a change for once. hehe. mmm..

#1 first up is Plurk! it's this thing i have on the right hand side of my blog. currently, it's black. will probably change its appearance again in a couple of days.hehe. plurk is really fun. you update your status or what you think or feel, what you want, what you hope for, basically anything you wanna let out. and ur friends/ fans will respond to the plurks and it becomes like a mini forum. only less formal. get more friends to join and it's be fun and more fun! so far, i've got Elin, Qiheng and Aaron to join. hehe. we respond to each others' plurks all the time! only thing is Qiheng is always so INACTIVE it gets on my nerves. bah. so people, start plurking!!

#2 i cooked klang bak kut teh today. it made my whole apartment smell of herbs. and i introduced bkt to my housemate from Canada. haha. she was quite amazed when i told her we sometimes put sea cucumber and abalone into bkt back home. i left the thing to boil while i went for my yoga class. and to avoid it drying up, i added lots of water and put it on low heat. by the time i got back, there was still so much water in there i could soak myself in it.

#3 there was a flood in my apartment today. yes, you heard me right. a flood. literally. hehe good thing it was not in my room. anyway, i got back from the hospital this evening to find my housemates gathering in the corridor. a rare sight. and when i opened the door to my apartment, they couldn't stop blabbering on about a flood. i was stoned for a moment as i thought my room was full of water. and what about my things? my lappy? my bags!! then after some time, they finally hit the point. it's just my housemate, Saira's room. phew. but i feel sorry for her. her carpet was practically soaked through, her bed was wet, papers on the table were soaked. sigh. good thing her laptop was alright. and her housephone in the corridor. apparently, this guy on the floor above ours left the tap on and it leaked through. the water went all the way down to the 2nd floor. thus, it drained our tank and we're left with no water to shower. wtd!!

#4 i was in manchester last week and elin cooked this really yummy ginger soup with glutinous balls in them. in fact the balls tasted quite good as well. but.... i guess the same thing applies to them. 我很丑可是我很好吃. haha. she left them to boil for a tad too long and they became like this.

they became wrinkly and ugly. haha. but still good.
