I've been really busy lately with Qiheng's visit and studying for my exams. Oh god, tell me how am i supposed to finish studying for 3 subjects in slightly under 3 weeks! So, pardon my lack of proper posts on my blog (just making excuses for myself wtd).
*for those who don't know, wtd is actually the acronym for what the duck! it kinda sounds better and more polite than saying what the f***. thus, i'll stick to wtd for the moment*
mmm..let's see..all my classes have been going just fine lately. have not skipped any lectures since monday.haha.that's not that long ago is it? i had a reason to skip that lecture wtd. leave me alone! i had a prosthetics practical exam on tuesday which i think i did really well. we had to make a wax rim in 2 hours. i had more than enough time and even had time to sms people wtd. haha. and my rim looked like it was gleaming inside out! not bad eh? really hope i can get a 4 for that. 4 is the highest possible score by the way.
as for my Operative Techniques labs, hmm, how should i put it. i'd say that i'm improving. we're now working on plastic teeth in phantom heads (plastic heads which are in a reclined position, resembling the position of the patient in a dental chair). it's really really tough because the plastic teeth are really soft in comparison to real teeth. therefore, it is impossible to use the fast handpiece and we have to use the slow one instead. (Omigosh, i'll tell u what i did to my handpieces that day!) anyway, i was saying that these plastic teeth are so hard to work on that a slip of the drill will make a big mark on the tooth. so we've gotta have steady hands.
oh oh..my handpieces! handpieces are drills dentists use in layman's term. they cost like a thousand euros each. and i've got 2 of them which came in my dental instrument kit. the smart me actually left them in the lab on tuesday and never thought of them. until... Eamon approached me on Wednesday morning with the handpieces in his hand. OMG, thank god i engraved my name on one of them or i'll never see them again.. :( thanks Eamon!
my collection of Stabilo pens. never knew i had so many. every time i go back to msia i buy a few and voila! i've got like 10 of them and loads of other pens in stock ;)
