Bake Sale

hmm.. how should i start this post? talk about bake sale first or Ghana first? *scratches head*

ok ok.. i shall start with Ghana.

about 20 of us in my class will be doing dental electives under the Dental Outreach program this coming July at various places; namely Ghana, Zanzibar and Nepal. i have made Ghana my choice of destination. we will be there for approximately 3 weeks, screening patients, treating them, doing lots and lots of extractions anddddddddd sight seeing! BUT... yeah, there's always a but to good things.. but.... it all comes with a price. a huge price of 2000 euros per pax excluding air ticket. so, we have to find ways to raise that fund, which brings up the issue of the bake sale :)

the bake sale is one of our numerous fund raising activities. it was held yesterday at the dental hospital. each one of us brought in something baked (mine was baked by Tesco ^^) to be sold to the staffs and students of the dental hospital. there was a really really wide selection of confectionary; cakes, banoffee pie, apple crumble, choc brownies, cup cakes of all sizes, scones, cookies and lots lots more! initially i was rather cynical about the whole thing, but boy was i wrong. we managed to raise a whooping 900 euros in just 3 hours! well done guys!

the bake sale will be held once every month, and i'll try to bake something the next time around. hehe.

ps: i received both my parcels from home today! *claps* and one of the boxes is filled with Old Town hazelnut white coffee and white milk tea, and Milo! woohoo!

pps: will be drinking more coffee from now on.. so more sleepless nights and more excess fat around my waist :(

ppps: i saw my paediatric patient for the second time today. kids are not that bad after all. you can do it wein!
